executive director
Brett Random, MSW
Brett brings over 20 years of experience working with people including 7 years of supervisory leadership experience and over 6 years of executive leadership. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies of Children, Families, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. With certifications in Organizational Leadership and Whole Community Leadership, she brings a strong foundation in social systems and a passion for inclusive, community-driven change. Brett serves on the Massachusetts Head Start Association Board of Directors, the Greylock Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, the Department of Transitional Assistance Advisory Committee, and the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Advisory Board. Through these roles, she champions policies and practices that support and empower families across Berkshire County.

donna brule-denning
Donna Brule-Denning brings over 28 years of dedicated service to Berkshire County Head Start, beginning her career in August 1996 as a Family Advocate. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and holds a credential in Whole Community Leadership supporting her work. She also serves as a board member for the Pediatric Development Center. Donna is committed to empowering children and families through community-focused early childhood education.

Hunter McCormick
Hunter McCormick holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Systematic Philosophy, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. A Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional and Certified Plan Sponsor Professional, Hunter brings over 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, with a focus on field service, program development, and sales administration. He currently serves as Committee Chair of Scouting America Troop 23, Vice President of Finance for the Western Massachusetts Council of Scouting America, Foundation Chair of the Great Barrington Rotary Club, Assistant District Governor for Rotary District 7890, and Treasurer of the Great Barrington Youth Foundation. Hunter also serves on the finance committee for the Massachusetts Head Start Association. He is passionate about community leadership and sustainable nonprofit operations.

melanie moran
Melanie Moran brings over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, with a strong background in organizational development and employee engagement. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. A former Head Start parent and Policy Council member, Melanie is deeply committed to family advocacy and community empowerment, drawing from both professional expertise and personal experience. Melanie also serves on the professional development committee for the Massachusetts Head Start Association.

lorie harrington, RN
Lorie Harrington, RN, brings over 40 years of nursing experience to her role. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). With current certifications in First Aid and CPR, Lorie is dedicated to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of young children, families, and staff. She is the lead facilitator for the program’s Health & Mental Health Advisory Committee. Her leadership is grounded in decades of clinical expertise and a strong commitment to creating safe, supportive learning environments.

maggie steele
Maggie brings over 30 years of experience in family services, including roles with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, Pittsfield Public Schools, and The Brien Center. Maggie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from SUNY New Paltz and is an active leader on several teams and councils, including the Families in Power Policy Council and the Board of Directors for Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity. Maggie also holds a credential in Whole Community Leadership.
