GOVERNING BODIES
Meet the Board!
The Head Start governing body is responsible for ensuring that the program complies with all legal requirements, including federal, state, and local laws. It also oversees financial management, ensuring the program's funds are used appropriately and efficiently. This includes approving budgets, monitoring financial reports, and ensuring fiscal accountability.

Meet Families in Power!
Families in Power is a group of BCHS parents and community members who help lead and make decisions about the program. Members are elected by parents of enrolled children and can serve for up to five years. Families in Power plays a vital role in providing overall direction for the program, and through it, parents have a voice in decisions regarding budget allocation, classroom activities, and community partnerships. Families in Power is a key component in our program, reflecting Head Start founders’ belief in parents as essential partners in their children’s education.
